![]() Make sure when squeezing the metal hood that the other end isn't connected to anything in case you squeeze too hard and the metal hood then touches the pins/ connections inside and shorts them. It's amazing how many times that a simply loose fitting connecter turns out to be the issue in such cases and not just on the SNES Mini but for other devices/ hardware too this loose fitting connection prevents devices communicating. ![]() If you are using the original USB Cable that came with the SNES Mini or one that is known to be rated for data transfer and yet they don't appear to work/ communicate then do the following as this 9 times out of 10 solves such issues.Īt the end of the cable which you physically plug into you SNES Mini gently squeeze inwards the widest part of the metal hood of the connector using a thumb or fingernail, this will make a much firmer/ tighter fitting connection and 9 times out of 10 sort this issue. Make sure you are using the original USB cable that came with the SNES Mini or a cable that you know is rated for data transfer & not rated as being "only for charging or powering a device". Some USB cables people use are only for charging/ powering devices and don't actually have the data lines connected in them (ie: they only have the power lines connected for charging or powering a device but no data lines connected that allow the two connected devices to communicate with each other). ![]() This easily fixed issue comes down to someone not using the correct type of USB cable to hook their SNES up to the computer.
